Reminder: this jurying is for a body of work, so specific juried work does not to be available for show.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AS THE SHOW IS A MONTH EARLIER THEN IN PREVIOUS YEARS. THE APPLICATION PROCESS HAS CHANGED A BIT AS WELL.
Application deadline: postmark, January 10, 2017
Notification will be sent in early February.
This exhibition is in conjunction with the California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Art http://natsoulas.com/ccaca-2017. Our juror is Nathan Lynch, chair of the ceramics department of CCA. https://www.cca.edu/academics/faculty/nlynch
In addition to the group exhibition at the Davis Arts Center, participants will have a piece of their work on display at the Annex in downtown Davis during the CCACA Conference.
Nathan will be selecting 6 artists to display a body of work based on their application. The actual work on display will be chosen by each artist in cooperation with Jan Schachter at the time of installation. The exhibition will be in the Tsao Gallery, on the walls in the adjacent lobby with an additional piece at the Downtown Annex.
Installation: Friday, March 31, 10 am until done
Art About! reception: Friday, April 14, 2017 5-7 pm
CCACA reception: Friday, April 28, 2017 5-7 pm
Juror, Nathan Lynch, will be there to talk about the show
Take down: Sunday, April 30, 2017 – 5 pm.
Submit your images by emailing them directly to me: firstname.lastname@example.org It is best to provide 4 examples of your work, but no more than 2 images per entry, please. You must submit one overall shot and one (optional) detail. Save digital images as jpeg files at a resolution of 300 dpi and no larger than 6 inches in length.
Title each image as follows:
-your last name (this MUST be first in the file title)
-the entry number that image represents (1 2 3 or 4)
-abbreviate the name of the artwork (do not use quotation marks)
-add the word detail for the detail shots
DO NOT add spaces, extra punctuation, numbers or extra characters (such as ” ” / : % #) to the image file titles.
The work may be NFS, but an insurance value (50% of retail) must be stated. Davis Arts Center will take a 40% commission on sold work.
It will be possible to ship work. Shipping will be taken into consideration when the artists are selected and tasks assigned. It will be the responsibility of the artist to pay for shipping both ways. There will be detailed instructions with the jury notification.

The participating artists will assist with the installation, graphics and produce the CCACA reception.
