This exhibition is in conjunction with the California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Art https://natsoulas.com/2018/10/ccaca-2019. Our juror is Lana Wilson. Lana Wilson’s work has been shown at Mingei International Museum (CA),Green Hill Center (NC), Clay Art Center (NY), Kalamazoo Institute
of Arts (MI), Red Lodge Clay Center (MT), Baltimore Clayworks (MD), Craft and Folk Art Museum (CA), Greenwich House Pottery (NYC) and appears in over fifteen books. She is the author of Ceramics: Shape and Surface and wrote a column for Clay Times for over 20 years. She has taught workshops in Mexico,
Canada, Israel, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and the U.S. She was on the board of CERF for eight years and on the Penland board for eight years.
In addition to the group exhibition at the Davis Arts Center, participants will have a piece of their work on display at the Annex in downtown Davis during the CCACA Conference. Participants will be required to sit, and/or find a volunteer to sit, a minimum of one 3-4 hour shift at the Annex location during the Conference.
Lana will be selecting the artists to display a body of work based on their application. During the installation, the work that will be included in the exhibit will be selected by each artist in cooperation with Jan Schachter and Mike Azevedo, Deputy Director, Davis Arts Center. The exhibition will be in the Tsao
Gallery, on the walls in the adjacent lobby with an additional piece at the Downtown Annex during the CCACA conference.
Installation: Wednesday, May 1, 10 am-6 pm
Art About! Reception: Friday, May 10, 5-7 pm
CCACA Reception: Friday, May 3, 5-7 pm

Submit your images by emailing them directly to me: email@example.com It is best to provide 4 examples of your work, but no more than 2 images for each piece, please (you must submit one overall image and you may include one detail image per piece). Submitted images must be in JPG format with a resolution of 300dpi and no larger than 1800 pixels (6 inches) in the longest dimension.
Title each image as follows:
-your last name (this MUST be first in the file title)
-the entry number that image represents (1 2 3 or 4)
-abbreviate the name of the artwork (do not use quotation marks)
-add the word detail for the detail shots
DO NOT add spaces, extra punctuation, numbers or extra characters (such as: / : % #) to the image file titles.
The work may be NFS, but an insurance value (50% of retail) must be stated.
Davis Arts Center will take a 40% commission on sold work.
Send a printed copy of the completed application to me at the address below, with
the $30 jury fee check.
The participating artists will assist with the installation, installation graphics
and produce the CCACA reception.
