The unique functional ceramics I make reflect my 30 years in the garment industry. My pieces are hand built using paper patterns then darted, stitched and drawn with textile and nature patterns.
Craftsmanship is a top priority in everything I make but I embrace the imperfection of each hand built piece. Nothing I do is ever symmetrical, ram straight or even at times, level (much like life)!
My whimsical pots are designed to work well in your hand as well as your home.

Hard & Soft / Clay & Felt
Please join me on Oct 5, 6-9 for the opening of my solo show @ Roscoe Gallery. I am excited to show this work. I have cut, painted and embroidered on thick wool felt, using the same paper patterns I use in my functional clay pieces, to create entirely nonfunctional fabric pieces. They can fool the eye but not the hand. If you can't make it to the opening, the gallery is open every Saturday from 12-5. My work will be there until Oct 27. |
