We’re honored to have had jurors Lisa Reinertson and Demetra Theofanous,
whose expertise and vision were instrumental in shaping this exceptional exhibition.

JURORS’ STATEMENT
It is always a challenging and humbling task to jury an art exhibition.
This was no exception, as there were so many exceptional works submitted
that covered a varied and broad representation of what Arts of Fire can be.
We co-juried this exhibition. While respecting each other’s knowledge of our own
medium expertise, we worked together on the overall selections for this show.
Although there were a higher percentage of ceramic pieces that were submitted,
we wanted to make sure that both the mediums of glass and ceramics were well represented.
Arts of Fire also includes both sculptural and functional artworks, with a variety of specific
technical and/or conceptual approaches. I believe that we both wanted to showcase
a strong representation of the range of what artists are creating with glass and clay and fire.
Congratulations to the artists whose works were selected!
We would like to note that we were only able to include a little over
ten percent of the artworks submitted, so my humble apologies
for all the other great artworks that were not included.
