I have operated my ceramic studio from my home in Truckee since 1989. I create my unique ceramic sculptures and pottery using wheel-thrown and slab construction techniques. Sculptural pieces may include some mixed media elements. These elements are chosen with care to help make the piece resonate with a shared cultural experience and often make people laugh. Porcelain and white stoneware are the clay bodies used and pieces are made in a traditional manner with a bit of a creative twist.

Narrative

Clay is an exciting, responsive medium to explore. My dialog with clay has developed over the years, and I find working with clay to be a lifetime commitment that grows more rewarding with each passing year. I draw my inspiration from the events and experiences of daily life as well as the beauty of the surrounding Tahoe and Great Basin areas and their abundant life forms. Current work includes a wide variety of narrative sculptural pieces and forms, as well as high-fired functional ware.
