Texture and surface exploration integrated with a 3-dimensional form have always been a part of my clay artwork. I approach form and surface texture as one, rather than create a form to use as a canvas for painting or decorating. The tactile sense is always in play whether I am creating a realistic trompe l'oeil effect or zeroing in the nuances of tree bark as through a macro lens. Recently, I've incorporated other materials with my clay work such as metal, vinyl, and glass. The creative journey continues.
