My first encounter with flame work glass was at the age of 14, the summer of 1969. I attended the Glass Workshop at Pepperdine. I fell in love with it and have been learning how to blow and sculpt glass over a torch for 48 years. I developed many of the oxide formulas used in coloring borosilicate glass, such as Amber Purple & its variations.
I practice a form of glassblowing I call 'off-hand flameworking', which lends itself to greater detail achieved through application of colored cane.
