Susannah Israel is an artist and writer living in Oakland, California. Public or private, her sculptures reveal a gritty yet passionate view of humanity, drawn from city life. She holds a BA in Art and Chemistry, 1987 and MFA, 2000 from San Francisco State University. Israel taught at Laney College, 2002-2018) and other diverse communities throughout the western states, giving lectures and masterclasses. She mentors artists through the Color Network.
